Browsing and copying venues

Any user with editor access can browse the Venues Library and copy a published venue into their own organization. Copies are independent — you can edit them freely without affecting the source.

Finding a venue

  1. Open the editor.
  2. Click Library in the navigation.
  3. The browse view lists publicly listed venues from publisher organizations on this instance, plus any venues from federated source instances if federation is configured.
  4. Listings appear in reverse chronological order — most recently listed first. Search, filtering, and curation are intentionally deferred to a later release.

Previewing

The preview modal renders the venue with the bundled renderer so you can inspect the layout interactively before copying. The preview is read-only — interactions, pricing, and events are not part of the snapshot.

Copying

When you find a venue you want to use:

  1. Click Copy to my organization in the preview modal.
  2. A progress bar shows asset transfer (thumbnails, PDF underlay, background images).
  3. On success, a banner confirms the copy with a link to open the new schema in the editor.
  4. The copy is now a fully independent venue in your organization. Edit it freely.

What you get

A copy includes:

  • All sections, rows, seats, and GA blocks.
  • The PDF underlay or background image, if present.
  • The schema thumbnail.

A copy does not include:

  • Pricing, price assignments, or events.
  • Bookings, sessions, or customer data.
  • Customizations specific to the publisher’s tenant configuration.

Set up your own pricing and events as you would for any new schema.

Provenance

Every copy records the source: the instance it came from, the source venue, and the source organization’s display name at the time of copy. This metadata is admin-readable and helps you trace where a schema originated even after the publisher has unlisted or renamed the source.

Limits

  • Copies are frozen at copy time. If the publisher updates their venue later, your copy is unaffected. To pick up changes, copy again.
  • Asset storage is duplicated per copy.
