Canvas Layers

The schema editor groups what you can edit into two layers, switched from a pill that floats at the bottom of the canvas. The pill replaces the mode dropdown: the choice now sits next to the drawing you are working on rather than in a menu.

The layers

Layer Hotkey What you edit
Seats 1 Sections, rows, seats, tables and general admission areas.
Artwork 2 The underlay image, shapes, labels and section outlines.

Click a layer in the pill, or press its number, to make it active. Only the active layer responds to selection and editing; the other one stays visible so you keep the venue in context.

The artwork chip shows a badge with the number of underlay items bound to general-admission sections, once there are any.

Selection is kept per layer

Each layer remembers its own selection. Switch from Seats to Artwork and back, and the seats you had selected are still selected. Switching layers does not enter the undo history, so it never costs you an undo step, and enabling a layer does not undo the locks you have set on it.

Venue shape and guides

To the right of the layers, separated by a divider, the pill carries three toggles:

  • Venue shape — turns the deformer on, so you can bend the whole venue.
  • Crop — shows the view area guide, the frame that defines what the booking widget displays.
  • Grid — shows the alignment grid.

Grid is independent and stays on until you turn it off. Venue shape and Crop each take over the canvas, so turning one on turns the other off, and switching layer turns both off.

While you work

The pill fades to a quarter of its opacity while you are drawing or dragging on the canvas, so it never hides the part of the map under it, and returns to full opacity as soon as you stop. Fit-to-screen accounts for the band the pill occupies, so nothing you fit ends up behind it.
